Overall accessibility: While it may be a bit counter-intuitive, it's actually surprising how much of the xenoplague mods can actually be put on battlesuits. It's very difficult for anything to attack pustules and devourers from outside the stun distance, and it gives the units so much crowd control. Arc defense: While obviously good on almost anything, it becomes especially brutal when when applied to swarms of units that get up in your opponent's face quickly. Since Oathbound emphasizes melee a lot, they actually can generate a ton of infection very naturally, and I would rate them pretty high on my list of factions that go well with xenoplague for this reason alone. Xenografted muscles on battlesuits the extra stagger on paladins is great, and helps spread the parasite infection early. (7) Heritor - action resets from siphoners are always really nice on melee focused units.ġ) I just finished a xenoplague Oathbound campaign and some things that I noticed worked really well: Echo walkers with first strike is really nice. Phase Manipulator can abduct units into range of melee + heal allies. (6) Voidtech - phasewalk on melee allow you to get the most out of movement and action points for your melee units. (5) Psynumbra - psionic damage from psy units and mods bypass armor, and the paladin’s melee attacks bypass shields, making it easy to bypass your enemies defenses. This ST reinforces the tankiness of paladin units Early stagger res mod for melee units that already start with basic stagger res. (4) Celestian - easy to get good reputation bonuses. (3) Promethean - You can put a thermal hazard on an enemy unit and then use a paladin with PyrX Absorption Panels to attack it, putting them in the hazard, healing the paladin unit. Malware demons can be used to spawn in more units to give the oath of loyalty bonus through. All mechanical and cyborg units count as integrated, a synthesis mechanic. (2) Synthesis - This ST applies a lot of bonuses to mechanical units. (ninjews mp build) Xenografted muscles gives an extra level of stagger to a melee focused race. (1) Xenoplague - pustules skitter + 1 mod, oath of loyalty, + protector's defensive mode is crazy good. I would love to get your thoughts on the combos. If it wasn't too late, I would think about trying to get a refund.I am planning on making a video covering the possible ST synergies for oathbound sometime in the next week and a half (to be posted before 11/24). But this sort of blatant cheating by the AI honestly sucks all the fun and enjoyment out of the game for me. I guess I could reload an autosave from 2-3 turns ago and go a different way. I remember nobody liked this stupid mechanic in AoW3, why would they use it again here? Afterwards, I used the reveal map cheat just to have a look at his land, and he literally had 10 - 12 army stacks all over his territory, with only 3 or 4 cities. Normally it would have been recoverable, except that losing Vrascal the seer means instant game over. So I'm running around trying to complete the 50 quests that are being thrown at me, with 2-3 stacks which are all I can afford, when the assembly dude suddenly bursts out of the fog of war with 4 full stacks all going straight for my hero. You can make peace with the Growth, but only after a lengthy quest, and it's even worse if you don't know about it in advance. First of all, you're at war with the Growth as soon as the mission starts, and at war with the Assembly soon after. I honestly don't know what reasoning they used to mark the first mission's difficulty as 3/5 stars.
